As Principal of St Luke’s Primary School I welcome you to our school website.
St Luke’s Primary School is part of the Southern Region of the Sydney Archdiocese. Most students are drawn from the local parish community and the immediate local areas. The school was founded in May 1950 by the Sisters of St Joseph.
Our school motto is Peace and as a Catholic School we commit ourselves to:
The school is proud of its safe, happy and welcoming learning environment. Religious Education and the integration of gospel values is the centre of teaching and learning at St. Luke’s. The liturgical, sacramental and prayer life of the school is strongly supported by the Parish Priest, Father Maurice Thompson and the school is noted for its community service and social justice outreach initiatives.
A major refurbishment and building program was completed in 2005 when twenty-one classrooms were refurbished and a new administration area and library built. A new school/parish hall was completed in 2010, using the “Building the Education Revolution” funds provided by the Australian Government.
A great strength of our school is the community spirit that exists with the Parish Priest, staff, students, parents and parishioners of St Luke’s. We work together to provide children with every possible opportunity to grow spiritually, academically and emotionally, in an environment in which they feel safe, loved and supported.
I trust you will enjoy our website and that it is able, at least in a small way, to demonstrate the many great features of St Luke’s Primary School.
